A manhunt is under way after a stabbing incident rocked a quiet residential street in Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent. Police are urgently seeking two individuals who reportedly fled the scene on a motorbike following the violent assault.
The incident unfolded on the evening of Thursday, 28 March, when emergency services were called to a property on Wellfield Road. The victim, a man, was found with a stab wound to his arm. Paramedics provided treatment at the scene before transporting him to the Royal Stoke University Hospital just before 10 PM.
Police have confirmed that the man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
How Suspects Fled the Scene?
According to witness reports, two men made their escape from the scene on a motorbike. One suspect was described as wearing a motorbike helmet, a blue puffer jacket, and black trousers. The second was said to be dressed in a thin black coat.
A police cordon was established around the property last night but has since been lifted. However, forensic officers remained at the scene on Friday, 29 March, as part of ongoing investigations to gather evidence and trace the attackers.
Police Launched an Appeal for Information
Detectives from Staffordshire Police have now launched an urgent appeal for information and are particularly keen to hear from anyone with:
- Witness accounts
- CCTV footage
- Dashcam footage from the area around Wellfield Road during the time of the incident
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed inside a house in Stoke-on-Trent. We were called at 9.40pm last night to an address on Wellfield Road, Bentilee, following a report that a man had been stabbed in the arm.
Colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Detectives have been working hard trawling through CCTV and are keen to speak to two men who left the scene on a motorbike. Anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage is asked to get in touch with us.”
