Experienced agriculture professional to spearhead grain buying growth across key UK regions
Cefetra has strengthened its UK grain procurement team by appointing Brian Dugdale as the new Regional Origination Manager for Scotland and Northern England.
The move forms part of the company’s strategy to enhance its grain procurement capabilities, stretching from Yorkshire through to Scotland’s central belt.
Over Two Decades of Industry Expertise
Dugdale brings with him over 20 years of experience within the agricultural sector. His previous roles include Regional Sales Manager at Mole Valley and Business Development Manager at Farmway—positions that have equipped him with a deep understanding of grain markets and rural business.
He will be working closely with Cefetra’s National Origination Manager, Samantha Holdstock, to help drive growth in both established and emerging grain-growing regions.
Commenting on his appointment, Brian said: “Cefetra is a company with a great history and a really strong trading platform. There are good people in the business, including some I have worked with before, and the company is ambitious, so it felt like an exciting time to join.”
His primary focus will be on expanding Cefetra’s regional trading team while increasing the volume of grain traded across Scotland and northern England.
He added: “The ambition is to expand the regional team and grow the amount of grain we are trading, so I will draw upon my experience in sales management and team development.”
Strengthening Cefetra’s Presence
Samantha Holdstock welcomed Brian to the team, noting his background aligns with Cefetra’s goals.
“Brian brings valuable experience in sales and management that aligns perfectly with our ambitious plans. His people-focused approach and commitment to supporting and developing talent will be instrumental as we increase our grain trading operations and continue building on Cefetra’s strong brand heritage in the market.”
A Trusted Name in Agricultural Supply
Cefetra Grain, a part of Cefetra Ltd, operates extensively throughout the UK. With regional offices in both England and Scotland, the company provides critical grain sourcing services to sectors including animal nutrition, food, and beverages.
The grain buying division plays a crucial role in maintaining consistent supply chains, and the appointment of Brian Dugdale is a clear signal of Cefetra’s intent to strengthen its regional footprint.
Backed by Brian Dugdale’s extensive experience and Cefetra’s focus on regional expansion, the company is primed to boost its grain trading footprint across northern England and Scotland. The strategic hire underscores Cefetra’s focus on talent, innovation, and expanding market reach within the UK agricultural sector.
