Three individuals have been arrested after a violent stabbing incident on Clapham High Street in south London on the evening of Thursday, 10 April.
Emergency services responded swiftly to reports of a stabbing near the junction of Clapham High Street and Bedford Road at approximately 9pm. One man was found at the scene with stab wounds and was promptly transported to a major trauma centre by paramedics.
Two additional men later arrived at hospital independently. Authorities have confirmed that their injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-altering.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “On Thursday, April 10 police were called to Clapham High Street following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated one man on scene for stab wounds before taking him to hospital. Two further men self-presented at hospital. Their injuries have been confirmed as non-life threatening or life-changing. They have all been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing.”
London Ambulance Service personnel, including ambulance crews and a rapid response paramedic, attended the scene alongside a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We were called at 9.09pm on Thursday… Our first paramedic arrived in four minutes. We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority,” a spokesperson confirmed.
A staff member at a nearby takeaway, who wished to remain anonymous, described the event as both “quite shocking and quite surprising.”
“We hadn’t heard about the incident until the police came this morning to ask us for our CCTV, but our cameras aren’t working.”
The incident caused significant disruption, with a police cordon remaining in place well into Friday morning. Morning rush hour traffic and public transport services in the area were notably impacted, though the cordon has since been lifted.
The Metropolitan Police are urging members of the public who may have witnessed the stabbing or have relevant footage to come forward as inquiries continue.
