Renowned chef and actor Matty Matheson, best known for his role as Neil Fak in the critically acclaimed FX series The Bear, has announced a UK and European tour in support of his newest cookbook, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches.
Matheson, who plays the loyal and eccentric handyman at the heart of the show’s kitchen drama, is also an executive producer on the series. His real-life culinary expertise and larger-than-life personality have contributed significantly to the show’s authenticity and success.
A Blend of Food, Insight and Humour
The live events promise a vibrant blend of content, described as “part discussion of his cookbook, part motivational speech, part exclusive sneak peek into his life and creative vision.” Fans will be treated to an engaging exploration of his culinary journey, the creative process behind his book, and an insider’s look into the dynamic world of The Bear.
The tour begins on 27 May in Copenhagen, followed by stops in Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Dublin, and concludes on 6 June in Belfast.
All shows will also feature Ricky Staffieri, Matheson’s co-star on The Bear, who plays his on-screen brother, Teddy. The duo’s comedic rapport is expected to bring the same charm and levity to the stage that fans have come to appreciate in the series.
Announcing the tour via Instagram, Matheson wrote: “I heard you and I am here for you. It’s been a minute since we’ve been together and I want to give y’all a sneaky peak into what I do, like how do I do what I do?! I am going to show you the magical insanity of creating my latest cookbook, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, maybe entice you with a little project that you may or may not be interested in a third season of and lift the veil of MATTY’S WORLD.”

New Musical Venture and Critical Praise
In addition to his culinary and acting endeavours, Matheson has recently expanded his creative pursuits by launching a hardcore band named Pig Pen, in collaboration with Wade MacNeil of Alexisonfire. A teaser track and music video have been released ahead of their debut performance, scheduled for 25 April at Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto, Canada.
Meanwhile, The Bear continues to receive critical acclaim. In a four-star review of the show’s third season, James Mottram of NME praised the balance of emotional depth and narrative tension: “Cracking along with its usual mix of slow-burns and fast-spurts, the balance in season three is just right.
From Marcus poignantly delivering the eulogy at his mother’s funeral to Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) dealing with her father as she settles on a new place to live to the pregnancy of Carmy’s sister Natalie (Abby Elliott), everyone gets a moment or two to shine.
Once again, The Bear has come out of the oven baked to perfection; its pursuit of excellence puts other shows to shame.”
With a tour combining storytelling, food, and entertainment, and new creative projects in the works, Matty Matheson is set to delight fans both on stage and on screen this year.
