Authorities allege Irish national is involved in fraud and passport offences across multiple Australian states
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have issued an arrest warrant for an Irish national suspected of unlawfully remaining in the country, following allegations of passport-related offences and other serious crimes.
Michael Connors, aged 25, is currently being sought by the AFP after he was last seen in Brisbane, Queensland, on 15 March.
Authorities allege that he is linked to offences involving the misuse of passports. Connor is also known for using multiple false identities, including Craig O’Neill, Michael O’Brien, John Cash, Karl George Lynch, and Joseph Blyth Kennedy.
However, it’s suspected he may be operating under a different name altogether. Connor is described as being between 168 and 175 centimetres tall, with red hair, blue eyes, and a fair complexion.
The Irish national has previously been active in both New South Wales and Victoria, where he faces unresolved legal matters linked to burglary and fraudulent schemes, notably involving roof-repair scams. These offences reportedly targeted vulnerable individuals, leaving victims emotionally and financially impacted.
AFP Detective Acting Superintendent Natalie Scott appealed to the public in Queensland and beyond to remain vigilant and report any potential sightings.
“The community plays a crucial role in reporting crime and helping police locate and apprehend offenders — they’re our eyes and ears on the streets,” said Ms Scott.
She added that Connors has a “history of alleged involvement in serious offences including burglary and roof-repair scams,” and is accused of committing fraudulent acts in both Australia and overseas.
“Police will allege Mr Connors has engaged in fraudulent activity across two countries and left devastated people in his wake,” she continued.
Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of Michael Connors is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Authorities stress that the community’s input is invaluable in assisting law enforcement in bringing alleged offenders to justice.
